Paronella Park - an impressive place with an equally impressive history. Jose Paronella arrived in nearby Innisfail in 1913 from Catalonia in northern Spain. Paronella Park has gone through a number of tragic events with cyclones, fire and accidents, and was not maintained for a period of 15 years until 1993 when the current owners bought it. They envisaged reviving Jose's dream with his appreciation for beauty and warm hospitality. They have created a museum in the original home built by Jose for his family, and 2009 saw the refurbishment of the original hydro turbine which once again provides power for the entire park.
