| Driving toward Great Lake we passed these ghostly dead trees. We've had it explaine to us before, that this can happen after major bushfires. The trees are damaged by fire and they are growing on rock with little surface soil. If the fire is followed by drought-like conditions, there isn't enough moisture to allow them to recover. |  |
