2017 - October. We are traveling soon to South America where we will see the Iguazu Falls in Argentina before traveling across the border to view them from the Brazilian side. So, with that planned we thought it worthwhile to see some of our nearby falls after some decent Spring rain in and near Brisbane [in our 'At Home' List button, above].

2017 - 12 day trip - On the way to Macksville to see the annual [Father's Day weekend] Rusty Iron Rally, we spent one night in Grafton and admired their Clarence River and the "Bendy Bridge". After an interesting few days around Macksville, we then drove to Armidale via the Waterfall Way. After that along the New England through Glen Innes where we looked at the Australian Standing Stones and then a stopover at Glen Aplin on the Severn river bank.

2017 - Away only 8 days in August for a short break to Norfolk Island. Although it's also part of the Pacific Islands group, it is an Australian External Territory 

2017 - On this 9 week trip we first travel the Queensland Natural Sciences Loop Road and then on to South Australia to see some of the things we missed in 2013. The Natural Sciences Loop Road takes in the towns Charleville, Cooladdi, Cheepie, Quilpie, Eromanga, The Dig Tree, Noccundra, Thargomindah, Eulo and Cunnamulla. In South Australia the highlights were Wilpena Pound, Kangaroo Island and meeting the the Antique Telephone Collector members in Burra.

 

2015 - After Christmas with family, then Australia Day and then Andrew's 22nd birthday, we'll set off in the motor-home for around 10 weeks in Tasmania. We've all been there for short trips before, but this time we plan to explore a little bit more, particularly the lakes and mountains areas.

Later in the year we are travelling to Canada and the US (for about six weeks) but more on that later

 

2014 - After seeing some wonderful parts of Australia last year and realising just how much of our own country that we haven't experienced, we've arrived at SKIDRO - “Spending Kids’ Inheritance Driving Round Oz”. This year, we'll spend 3 to 4 months exploring some parts of Qld (Our travel map for Queensland east of the Great Dividing Range)

 

At only around 700km return, our first short trip is to a birthday celebration in Texas (Qld).

After that, we are back home to pick up the boat and we head for North Queensland to avoid the bitterly cold winter weather here in Brisbane.

 

 

2013 - Re-iterating that the travel bug is still with us, there are many, many places in Australia that we haven't seen. So, we will continue with our "skins" attitude –  “spending the kids’ inheritance now”.

 

At the start of 2013 our first Aussie journey was to the annual Tamworth Country Music festival around 700 km south from our home in Brisbane. 

 

After this eventful trip we then started preparing for our Round Oz journey. Because we hadn't towed the boat with the M/H, we anticipated a bit of a challenge with launching and retrieval using the M/H on boat ramps. So as an experiment, we towed the boat to Lake Somerset and camped there for a few days. The experiment was successful and we had no difficulties with the boat and trailer, so we are taking it with us "Round Oz".
